Workshop Format

This FACE-TO-FACE workshop will take place at Dubai International Academy Al Barsha (DIAB), Al Barsha, Dubai, UAE in association with Innoventures Education Training Centre. Note that there are two DIA schools in Dubai and our venue is the school in Al Barsha which close to the iconic Mall of the Emirates.

Includes 15 hours of expert tuition over 2.5 days, with full resources, 2 lunches on Day 1 and 2 and refreshments morning and afternoon while at the venue.

Timings: 09:00-17:00 on Days 1 and 2 and 09:00-12:15 on Day 3.

About the workshop

What skills positively influence and support a student's approach to life-long learning? All IB programmes develop the approaches to learning (ATL) skill categories of communication, social, self-management, research and thinking.

  • Develop a deeper understanding of ATL as a way for students to acquire and use skills developed over time in order to access learning.
  • Consider contemporary research to apply metacognitive strategies throughout the learning process, with an emphasis on assessment as learning.
  • Design the curriculum to encourage students to build these skills.
  • Reflect on how developing affective, cognitive and meta-cognitive skills using a variety of strategies may increase the capacity of learners to become selfregulated and intrinsically motivated.

Once we have confirmed that the workshop will go ahead we will send you a confirmation email and an information pack which tells you everything that you need to know about joining your sessions. The links to join your sessions will be sent to you by email around 2 days before your sessions start.
