This FACE-TO-FACE workshop will take place at Dubai International Academy (DIA) Al Barsha, Dubai, UAE in association with Innoventures Education Training Centre.
DIA Al Barsha is close to the the Mall of the Emirates and many hotels in the Al Barsha area. Includes 15 hours of expert tuition over 2.5 days, with full resources and great food and refreshments
Timings: 08:30-16:30 on Days 1 and 2 and 08:30-12:15 on Day 3.
RECOMMENDED FOR: Teachers supporting this CP core component from schools that have taken the decision to apply to offer the careerrelated Programme (CP); new or recently appointed language and cultural studies (LCS) coordinators or teachers from IB World Schools with an existing CP offer.
This workshop will provide participants with an in-depth look at the IB mission and philosophy reflected in the CP as a programme of international education and in the context of language and cultural studies (LCS) more specifically, and introduce the function of LCS in the CP core and the CP as a whole. Participants will explore the syllabus structure, the learning process, and approaches to assessment. The workshop will focus on strategies to encourage achievement of the aims and learning outcomes of LCS, and approaches that participants can consider in order to implement LCS in ways that are engaging and responsive to their diverse students’ backgrounds, needs and aspirations. The workshop will model the students’ LCS journey and encourage participants to actively engage with the tools and processes that students would experience in this core component.
